Absolutely brilliant night for a surprise 50th birthday! The staff at La mamma's were so lovely and accommodating with such a large group of us. Highly recommended. Thank you for such a great night!

I hadn't been to La mamas for a good few years. Being Gluten free I didn't even know they did gluten free options. Everything on the menu pretty much , especially pasta dishes and pizza , you can order as gluten free. The service was great. Atmosphere was as I always remembered. Warm and intimate even though there were 9 of us. Prices are as expected. It was good quality food so you get what you pay for. I will be returning . Thank you La Mamma's for allowing me to be able to eat proper Italian food again!

What a brilliant restaurant. It was absolutely packed out. We counted 5 groups celebrating birthday meals. The staff were exceptionally nice and I don't know how they managed with all the orders and still had time for a sense of humour. The food was everything you would expect from a decent Italian restaurant. So all in all a superb time was had by our table of six. We will definitely return. Well done La Mamma.

Under new management since Xmas 2019! Superb new decor inside, fantastic beer and spirit selection. The staff really know their stuff. Very good food, (had the slow cooked brisket roast for main and a perfectly cooked chocolate fondant for pudding). Ignore all reviews pre-Dec 19 as they are clearly talking about the old establishment! A great addition to this part of Christchurch!

A lovely authentic Italian restaurant. Exceptional food & drinks, excellent service. My only negative comment is that we were seated outside in the garden and the chairs (ordinary metal garden variety) were very uncomfortable to have to sit in for 2 hours, whilst enjoying a meal. Some cushions would be good. It also got quite cold later in the evening, some extra heating would help.

The place to go for Italian in Christchurch! A proper restaurant, with proper atmosphere and service that is next to none! With food and hospitality this good it's easy to see why people go back time and time again. Look forward to visiting again!

Opened in December 2019 under new owner and management and very impressed with the high quality of fresh home made cooking using only British meat, fish and veg using local suppliers. Been twice to the restaurant and enjoyed all our dishes. On our recent visit we had the good value 3 course set lunch menu with Sticky BBQ Chicken wings with garlic & herb mayo and the crispy squid followed by fish & chips and the pulled pork tacos with a harissa mayo & burnt corn salsa. Finished up with the sticky toffee pudding and ice cream. Delicious food and great to come back during the day for snacks and drinks in the bar area. Will come back to try the Sunday roast but make sure you book as the weekend can get busy.
